Private heated swimming pool with level 1m shallow end and slope to 2.3m deep end. Small baby pools available. Full paved terrace. Plenty of loungers with cushions and parasols. The pool has a regulation safety alarm installed and the poolside area ia surrounded by a discreet fence and lockable gate, making it safe for inquisitive young children at all times! Weather permitting we aim to keep the temperature at around 80°F (26/27 °C) during July and August, high 70's F (25°C) during June and mid 70's F (23/24°C) during May and September. If there is an unseasonally cold spell this may alter by a degree or two.
Please note: Our swimming pool is open from approximately 16th May until the 25th September. During July and August bookings are weekly with a Friday changeover on Le Pressoir and Le Fournil and Saturday changeover on La Grange and La Chaumiere. Outside of school holidays weekly bookings and short breaks are available along with flexible arrival and departure dates.

All inclusive prices - there are no extras! Linen and towels (including tea towels), cleaning and welcome hamper are included in the rental price. An initial supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, hand soaps, shower gel, shampoo, toilet paper, sponges, scourers and other cleaning items will be there in the cottage for your arrival. There is generally enough of each item for several days.

The valley of the River Blavet is known as the Vallee Verte (Green Valley). It is a conservation area and La Garenne sits on its own with magnificent views South across the valley. It really is a unique location and your first glimpse of La Garenne is from about 1km away as you drive up the little lane beside the river.
The area is also a haven for wildlife. One visitor spotted (and noted down) over 40 different types of bird in one week, including Cormorants, Herons and Kingfishers on the river. The valley is peaceful, the air fresh and the stars at night are something to behold.
You can barbecue dinner in our beautiful grounds soaking up the warm evening sun and enjoy the lovely views with a glass of chilled wine.
With a mild climate La Garenne is also ideal for a Spring or Autumn break. Imagine curling up on the sofa with a good book and glass of fine red wine in front of a roaring log fire on a crisp autumn evening. In fact, tell us what time you are arriving and Jeanine will have your cottage warm, beds turned down, log fire crackling with wine, bottle opener and glasses ready on the kitchen table for you.
Each cottage has both electric heating and a huge wood burning stove. In our Summer season, from 1 May to 30 September, everything is fully inclusive, so firewood and electricity are included in the price.
In the low season (i.e. before 30 April and after 1 October), the electricity charge is, where possible, calculated according to meter reading and usage. If this is not possible, we also have standard rates we can apply based upon average usage for that time of year. This is usually deducted from the refundable breakage deposit. The same with firewood, we have a large wood store and we buy in the logs by the cubic metre, then simply ask you to pay for what you use.

Our Caretaker, the vivacious Jeanine is ever present with her French joie-de-vivre. She spends endless hours tending our gardens, ensuring every detail is taken care of and simply adores La Garenne.
La Garenne's stunning location has twice been used as the venue for large wedding celebrations - have you ever thought about somewhere really different for a special occasion - be it a birthday, anniversary, family reunion, golf or corporate gathering? La Garenne is perfect for up to 20. Just let us know the occasion and we can arrange to have something special in the cottage for your arrival. La Grange and La Chaumiere can be linked to create accommodation for 10-12.
